A cocoon consists of 3000–4000 m of thread and approx. 1 kg of cocoons rarely yield more than 200 g of pure silk, making the silk fibre an exclusive material. The natural softness, beautiful fall and high level of comfort of silk makes it one of the best materials to use for clothing.
